Alex Steinweiss (March 24, 1917 – July 17, 2011) was a prominent graphic artist who gained worldwide recognition for his unique album covers. Otherwise known as "the inventor of the Modern Album Cover," Steinweiss' design style utilizes and combines both graphic arts with illustration. His client list range from Columbia Records, the U.S. Navy, Fortune Magazine, PRINT Magazine, and various other companies/organizations. This album design contains a context timeline framing 24 different events and photographs that were existential to his career.
